Poor Alf, the donkey, does not feel he is loved the way the other animals on the farm are loved. He tries crowing like the rooster, jumping gleefully on his master like the dog and curling up on the lap of his mistress like the cat. These actions just seemed to make the farmer's upset . . . so he climbs up on the roof to die; "that will teach them" he thinks . . .

A story to remind us to show love and receive love. If you don't a donkey might climb up on your roof don't take them for granted.

The illustrations in this book are so sweet my 16 year old daughter said "Awww" at least six times will paging through.
